JOIN THE DHC COMMUNICATIONS TEAM AS A PROJECT MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

DHC Communications, a leader in telecommunications infrastructure design, construction, and management, is seeking a dedicated Project Management Coordinator to join our team in Nelson, BC. In this role, you will assist our Project Managers in coordinating various commercial, institutional, and industrial projects by identifying material, labor, and time requirements through the review of proposals, drawings, and specifications. You will be responsible for creating and updating project schedules, reviewing estimates, managing correspondence, tracking daily job costs, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

General work activities

  • Collaborate and assist Project Managers and Site Superintendents with all day-to-day project initiatives and coordination.
  • Create and update project schedules with the Project Manager.
  • Create and review estimates with the Project Manager.
  • Manage correspondence tracking and daily job cost tracking as needed.
  • Regularly communicate with owners, trades, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Read and review drawings and specifications to extract information for RFIs (Requests for Information) and change orders.
  • Prepare submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders), and other project-related documentation.
  • Generate construction site reports and create progress reports regularly.
  • Maintain project documentation and distribute it to relevant parties in a timely manner.
  • Assist the project team with project close-out documentation.
  • Create progress draws and change orders with the assistance of the Project Manager and Accounting.
  • Attend and/or host site walkthroughs, field reviews, and project meetings. Stay updated on emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional construction projects as a Project Coordinator.
  • Experience working with ProCore is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, MS Project, Teams, and OneDrive).
  • Knowledge of OH&S Regulations
  • Ability to keep track of multiple projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proactive and organized with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail and an enthusiasm for quality.
