About the Position:
We are seeking a Telecommunications and Security Service Technician with a strong background in telecommunications and security systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a range of technologies, including phone systems, internet networks, video surveillance, and access control systems. You should be well-versed in low voltage cabling and network infrastructure and have experience with several security platforms. Your role will be essential in ensuring the seamless operation of these systems, providing our clients with reliable and effective solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Install and Maintain Systems: Set up and configure telecommunications and security systems, including phone lines, internet networks, CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to telecommunications and security equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- System Upgrades: Perform regular system updates and upgrades to ensure technology remains current and functional.
- Client Support: Provide technical support and training to clients, helping them understand and effectively use their systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and equipment inventory.
- Emergency On-Call Services: Provide emergency on-call services as needed to address urgent issues and ensure systems are operational.
- Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting telecommunications and security systems.
- High-Level of Experience: Extensive experience in security system installation and service, with a strong understanding of various security platforms.
- Cabling Skills: Well-versed in low voltage cabling and network infrastructure, with the ability to accurately install, terminate, and test components.
- Certification: Relevant certifications in telecommunications, security systems, or related fields are highly desirable.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in system installations and repairs.
- Flexibility: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to respond to on-call emergencies if required.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to lift and handle equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
- Class 5 Driver’s License: A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required for vehicle operation.
- Clean Criminal Record Check: A clean criminal record check is necessary for this role.
